Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

1
1. Correct. An EBL of 1500 ml with tachycardia and hypotension suggests hypovolemia from excessive blood loss.
2. Incorrect. The vital signs are normal with the exception of an increased RR, which may be secondary to pain from the birth.
3. Incorrect. The vital signs are normal with the exception of the temperature. However, temperature may increase to 38 C during the first 24 hours as a result of the dehydrating ef-fects of labor.
4. Incorrect. The vital signs are normal although the BP is slightly elevated. This may be due to the use of oxytocic medications.
