Answer to Question 1

D
Feedback:
Gender role is the male or female behavior a person exhibits which may or may not be the same as biologic gender or gender identity. Assessing the patient's sexual preferences, asking what gender the patient identifies, and analyzing the patient's chromosomal inheritance will not determine the patient's gender role.

Answer to Question 2

B
Documentation of assessments and interventions is the nurse's best protection in any setting. It is especially important in the home setting where the nurse may be the only professional working with the family. Of course, the nurse must be competent and function within the limits of his or her license.
