Question 2

In the following paragraph, what methods does the writer use to achieve coherence?
Biosphere II in southern Arizona was built as a self-sustaining ecosysteman
experiment that would have implications for such structures should humans try to colonize
the moon or Mars. On September 26, 1991, eight people entered Biosphere II for a two-year
mission to see if humans could survive in a totally contained, self-sustaining environment.
Three weeks into the experiment, one crew member had an accident with a rice threshing
machine that severed the tip of her finger. She left the Biosphere for five hours in order to be
treated by a specialist. By April of 1992, the Biospherians had lost significant weight because
food production was lower than expected. Their health also suffered because oxygen levels in
Biosphere II began dipping to dangerously low levels. In January 1993 more oxygen was
added, a move many considered another indication of the mission's failure.

  Despite these
setbacks and their growing hostility towards each other, the Biospherians remained in the
  enclosure until September 26, 1993.
