Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback
A As the cervix begins to soften, dilate, and efface, expulsion of the mucous plug
that sealed the cervix during pregnancy occurs. This causes rupture of small
cervical capillaries.
B Cervical dilation and effacement do not occur with false labor.
C Lightening is the descent of the fetus toward the pelvic inlet before labor.
D Bladder distention occurs when the bladder is not empted frequently. It may slow
down the decent of the fetus during labor.

Answer to Question 2

D
Intake is restricted, because the digestive process is normally slowed decreasing gastric emptying of food in the stomach. This situation may lead to nausea and vomiting, which carry the risk of aspiration and aspiration pneumonia.
