As an indicator of preterm labor, the appropriate nursing action is teaching the client to palpate and time contractions, if they occur. Fibronective level is not associated with maternal blood glucose levels or an indicator of PIH.

Maternal antibodies cause hemolysis of fetal RBCs. Little blood flows through the liver during fetal development, because of the ductus venosus, so an immature fetal liver does not hemolyze the fetus RBCs. Paternal antibodies do not affect fetal RBC hemolysis.
