Answer to Question 1

C
Intercourse should be avoided throughout the third trimester, as it may stimulate preterm labor or cause bleeding from the partial placenta previa. The mother should be able to verbalize the need to call if contractions occur and the need to maintain bedrest with bathroom privileges. Also, it is appropriate to stay on left side as much as possible when lying down. This position decreases the stress on the placenta.

Answer to Question 2

D
While physiologic jaundice is normal, it should not appear this early and this manifestation probably indicates pathological jaundice. Chest that is 1/2 inch smaller than the head is a normal finding. Closed posterior fontanel is a normal finding for a full-term neonate. Cyanosis of the hands and feet is a normal finding for a 3-hour-old neonate.
