Answer to Question 1

A
Response:
Cryosurgery destroys abnormal cervical tissue by freezing. Conization involves cutting out a cone-shaped section of tissue. Laser therapy destroys cervical tissue by using high-energy light to burn it off. Radiation therapy involves irradiating the tissue for destruction.

Answer to Question 2

B
Response:
Stimuli need to be decreased. Waking the newborn every hour would probably be too stimulating. Measures such as swaddling the newborn tightly and offering a pacifier help to decrease irritable behaviors. A pacifier also helps to satisfy the newborn's need for nonnutritive sucking. Checking the fontanels provides evidence of hydration.
