Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
Early, regular, and frequent nursing helps prevent engorgement. If engorgement does occur, the breast pump can be used to get the milk flow started. Skipping feedings contributes to engorgement, and limiting fluid is not beneficial or recommended.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding as the optimum nutrition from birth through the first year of life.
