Answer to Question 1

Workforce competencies are general skills that most workers need no matter what type of job they have. These skills include resource allocation, managing information, interpersonal skills, understanding systems, and working with technology. Job-related skills are particular to certain jobs or industries. These skills include specific job tasks, such as operating a crane, using complicated spreadsheets, and performing medical procedures.

Answer to Question 2

ABC goals are actionable, bounded, and compelling. Actionable goals are realistic goals that can be acted upon. They are behavior-related, and you can develop a plan for achieving them. Bounded goals are measurable. They are specific, and you can measure progress toward achieving them. Compelling goals compel, or force, you to action. They are truly important to you, so you want to work toward achieving them. Getting an A in an economics class is an ABC goal. It is actionable because you can do homework and class assignments in order to reach the goal. It is bounded because you can check progress throughout the semester and complete assignments on time. It is compelling because a grade point average can be important to future success in college and the workplace.
