Answer to Question 1

Naturalistic observation involves watching people or other animals in their natural habitats. This type of research has high ecological validity and usually low reactivity. It has great flexibility, but lacks control. In addition, it tends to be costly and time-consuming. Laboratory observation involves watching people or other animals in an artificial laboratory setting. The ecological validity is questionable, and the reactivity tends to be higher. It has great control but lacks flexibility. It also tends to be less costly and time-consuming than naturalistic observation.
