Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

Functionalists believe patterns in society exist because they serve some purpose or are beneficial. A sexual division of labor was functional because it enabled men, who are more expendable in a reproductive sense, to take on the more dangerous tasks. Women could produce and take care of children. This pattern helped ensure human survival.
