Explain what is unique about low-income countries.

How much difference does having one more child (e.g. three instead of two) make?
 
  a. Having an extra child would only create a very short term increase in population.
  b. In a small population having one more child each family would actually keep the population stable.
  c. The impact of just one more child is greater the larger the size of the existing population.
  d. If each family has one more child there would be a population increase, but it would be very small.

Low-income countries have agricultural economies. High birth rates and declining rate of infant mortality result in large and growing populations. These countries are extremely poor.
