Answer to Question 1

Tracking is the process of evaluating children and determining what educational process they should follow. In principle, tracks are organized according to ability; in reality lower-status children have a greater likelihood of being placed in the lower tracks.

Answer to Question 2

Cultural capital refers to familiarity and identification with elite culture. It will help students in their interactions with teachers and will influence how effectively they are able to translate their education into occupational success.
