Answer to Question 1

Population research is useful to societies for many reasons. Specifically, population analysis is essential for anticipating future social needs of the country, for defining political boundaries, for allocating funds for social development and/or economic growth initiatives, and for government policies. Some of the trends demographers specifically study are racial and ethnic composition of the population, trends in the marriage and family, employment, and life expectancy or other social health variables.
