There was a significant division between the nations with the most advanced technology of the time (swift ships and powerful cannons) and other nations without such technology. The lower technology nations had resources the advanced nations needed because of the Industrial Revolution in Europe.

Answer to Question 2

Push factors for moving out of the city include fear of urban crime and violence. Pull factors include perceived safety, lower costs of living, recreation, more space, improvements in transportation, and a general appreciation for nature and the environment.
