The two levels of analysis are the macro level and the micro level. The focus of macrosociology is on the large-scale features of the society; the focus of microsociology is on social interactions. Macrosociology is the approach usually used by functionalists and conflict theorists. Microsociology is the approach usually used by symbolic interactionists.
