The Hawthorne plant that was used in the Hawthorne studies was part of the Western Electric Company. Sony and IBM were not helped by the Whiz Kids.

Explanation: After World War II, many managers came out of the armed forces and applied statistical methods that they had employed to solve military problems to management situations, making the military the correct response.
