Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

The serial position effect refers to the tendency to remember items at the beginning and end of long lists, and forget material in the middle. Therefore, it is preferable to present large amounts of unrelated material (such as one hundred spelling words) as several short lists rather than one long list.
