Answer to Question 1

The Bible lays down several important principles with regard to leading change. First, change comes about when someone (or a small group of people) sees the need for change. They begin communicating the need to others. Sometimes the need for change involves dialogue and even debate. Second, solid values become central to the reason for change. Third, we find change leaders using existing reporting relationships to affect change. Fourth, commitments of time, energy, and resources are made as individuals submit to each other and to their belief in God's will. Fifth, leaders listen to others. Sixth, leaders are themselves willing to be changed.
