Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

Primary embedding mechanisms are organizational activities that tend to support the acceptance of shared values by employees. What organizational leaders pay attention to is one of the most important ways that shared values get embedded in an organization. Paying attention to particular issues and employee behaviors often involves showing employees how something is done, explaining why a procedure is important, and mentoring others who are still learning. This teaching and coaching work of the manager, coupled with showing by example, helps employees accept company values. Once organizational shared values are established, other things reinforce these values. Secondary reinforcing mechanisms are things and activities in and around the organization that maintain or strengthen company values. Several kinds of things in an organization reinforce the company culture if they are consistent with the primary embedding mechanisms. How work is divided among workers and what means are used for these workers to coordinate their efforts reinforces the limits of authority.
