Answer to Question 1

FALSE

Answer to Question 2

The three components of individual innovation (motivation, resources, and skills) are quite similar to those needed for organizational innovation. Motivation to innovate: Individuals must be motivated to be creative; organizational innovation requires that organizations have the kinds of cultures that encourage innovation. Resources to innovate: People must have certain skills to be creative; organizations must possess certain basic human and financial resources to make innovation possible. Skills to manage innovation: Individuals must hone their creative skills; organizations must develop special ways of managing people to encourage innovation. Managers can promote innovation by a balanced approach to goals, reward systems, and time pressure.
