Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

The autocratic-delegation continuum model is a leadership approach that recognizes that leaders allow followers to have different degrees of decision-making power, ranging from autocratic, through participative, to delegation. Although this model reasonably describes the role of leaders in organizational decision-making, it is regarded as being overly simplistic. In fact, researchers have observed that describing a leader's participation in decision-making involves two separate dimensions.

The two-dimensional model of subordinate participation distinguishes between leaders who are directive or permissive toward subordinates, and the extent to which they are participative or autocratic in their decision-making style. As the name implies, this conceptualization describes subordinates' participation in decisions in terms of two dimensions. These two variables yield the four possible patterns: the directive autocrat, the permissive autocrat, the directive democrat, and the permissive democrat.
