Answer to Question 1

TRUE

Answer to Question 2

Trust refers to a persons degree of confidence in the words and actions of another. There is some evidence that the predisposition to be trusting of others is a personality variable. Likewise some people are predisposed to be cynical and rarely trust anyone. Trust is especially important in forming and maintaining interpersonal contracts. An employee who trusts the supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates can function more effectively and is more likely to engage in organizational citizenship behaviors. Trust develops over time as the person observes and interacts with another. Managers can promote trust by:
1 Always meeting deadlines.
2 Following through as promised.
3 Spending time sharing personal values and goals.
