Answer to Question 1

Adaptive learning has a coping orientation and focuses on solving problems by using or refining the prevailing mental model or way of doing things. Generative learning, on the other hand, has a creative orientation and involves surfacing and reviewing the underlying assumptions about the prevailing mental model or way of doing things. It involves continuous experimentation and feedback in an ongoing analysis of how problems are defined and solved.
