Answer to Question 1

Organizations have moved away from the traditional, highly complex, and formalized structure because they could not adjust to the dynamic world around them. A contemporary organization has developed an organizational structure that is based on simplicity. A simplified organization has little formalization, is low in complexity, and has its authority centralized in a single person. The simple structure is a flat organization; it usually has only two or three levels, employees who perform a variety of tasks, and one individual who makes most of the decisions.
