Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

This is an important factor to consider because it can vary quite a bit from vendor to vendor. The release strategy describes how often fixes, minor upgrades, and new releases of the software will be made. They should be able to tell you how often major releases will come and how long the vendor will support the older releases. There should also be a defined upgrade path. Vendors will also vary a bit in what they charge for upgrades and how well they keep up with the maintenance of them.
