Answer to Question 1

A direct observation is necessary to gather additional information and to confirm or disconfirm the information obtained during the interviews.

Answer to Question 2

By learning more about these circumstances, it is possible to determine what stimuli or antecedents do not set the stage for the behavior to occur. This information can be used to inform the development of interventions in the environments in which the behavior does occur.
