A stakeholder assessment is very important to the planning process. A stakeholder is any person, group, or organization that has a vested interest in the program or project. Stakeholders in health care include people such as patients, nurses, physicians, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, etc. A stakeholder assessment is a systematic consideration of all potential stakeholders to ensure that the needs of each of these stakeholders are incorporated into the planning.
