An ICU manager learns that the current staff are tired of working overtime. Which option should the manager take to influence the staffs morale?
 
  1. Pull nurses from other nursing units.
  2. Rotate day shift staff to night shift positions temporarily.
  3. The manager should work some of the open shifts.
  4. The manager should hire a staff nurse consultant.

An OB manager is reviewing the units turnover rate. The unit has had a 50 percent turnover rate in the past year. The units overtime costs have increased significantly in the past year. How can the manager retain the current staff?

amount of overtime and the managers ability to work alongside staff will affect morale.
