Wireless handheld computers are easily portable, allow quick charting, and permit quick access to client records. There may be a long learning curve until the person becomes familiar with use. The small screen does not allow the user to view the entire page of information.

Laptop computers are used to chart and transmit a client's care. Laptop computers are more powerful than tablets yet both are still small and portable enough to be taken into the client's home. If a devise has Internet access, information can be sent or nursing documentation completed.
