Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 4

In the future, health care will be provided mostly in communities. Telehealth and remote telemetry are changing the way health care is delivered. The focus on communities as a point of entry into health care and delivery of services is increasing along with the recognition of the important role the community can play in health. Health care will be provided mostly in the community. Acute and critical care will be delivered in the hospitals, but with shorter admission time periods and quicker discharges back into the community and home environment. As the population grows older people will receive more long-term care at home.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 3

Computers and information technology are some of the major technological contributors to changes in self-management by health care consumers. The Internet and health-related portals bring information technology to the public as never before, and telehealth and remote telemetry are changing the way health care is delivered. Cell phones increased communication between people but did not impact the healthcare field as computers and related technology have. Elementary education and better transportation have not been indicated as contributors to changes in the ability of consumers to manage their healthcare.
