What is the best definition of communication?
 
  1. The verbal message transmitted between two people
  2. Nonverbal interactions between two or more people
  3. Any means of exchanging information between two or more people
  4. Any means of exchanging information or feelings between two or more people

Question 2

The nurse manager is reflecting on a negotiation conducted with the medical director which did not produce a desired outcome. In which order should the manager reflect upon this episode?

By defining communication as an exchange of information or feelings, the concept goes beyond a simple transfer of information to the establishment of a relationship between people. This is a much more complete expression of the purpose of communication. Both verbal and nonverbal information are exchanged during communication.
