What role did a physician play in ancient Chinese medicine?
 
  1. Had to wait for patients to become ill before treating them
  2. Consulted Taoist writings for diagnosis and prescription
  3. Received payment only if the patient stayed HEALTHY
  4. Paid the patient's family if the patient died

3. A physician would only be paid while the patient was HEALTHY.
