Nursing centers provide unique opportunities to improve the health status of individuals, families, and communities through direct access to nurses and nursing models of care. All nursing centers have things in common. They include:
 
  1. Characteristics that reflect the values, beliefs, and scientific knowledge and skills inherent in nursing models of care.
  2. Primary care is provided by physicians and health care providers.
  3. Accountability and responsibility is handled by the local health department.
  4. They are all freestanding businesses.

Question 2

Nursing centers or clinics are a type of joint practice developed by advanced practice nurses. These centers provide:
 
  1. Opportunities for collaborative relationships for CNS, NPs, baccalau-reate-prepared nurses, and community members
  2. Specialized care for certain medical conditions
  3. A place for NPs to practice without worrying about autonomy
  4. A center for primary prevention
