The emergency department nurse listened as the woman said, I know that this sounds stupid, but I was leaning on the door handle and I fell out of the car right into the traffic.
 
  The woman had a broken leg in addition to scrapes and bruises. What should the nurse be sure to ask?
 
  A. Is it possible someone pushed you out of the car? Have you been hit, slapped, kicked, or physically hurt by someone during the last year?
  B. Perhaps you need some automobile safety classes. If your seat belt had been fastened, this wouldn't have happened. May I sign you up?
  C. Sounds like you really need some physical education classes to learn how to handle your body and balance better. May I suggest some resources to you?
  D. Were you using drugs or alcohol at the time and just got careless?
