Those who challenge the argument that colonialism best
 
  explains the gap between developed and less-developed countries argue that:
  a. profits from colonialism were not large enough to explain Europe's wealth.
  b. most of the largest former colonies, including the United States, are highly developed now.
  c. imperialism had no role in contributing to Haiti's current poverty.
