In America, the branches are separated so that executive elections are not dependent on legislative elections. In contrast, the British parliamentary system does not have this separation. The British prime minister is selected among the members of Parliament. In the American federal system, there is also independence between federal and state elections.
3, Discuss how the federal system in the United States allows for a much lesser role for the federal government and a greater role for the states. In other countries, the federal government plays a much greater role.
