1, Indicate that they are important to most people because they affect lives. For example, people need to have health insurance and energy, and they appreciate the benefits of a healthy environment.
2, Explain that these policy areas are often highly technical, and many people may not fully understand them. For example, few people understand the science behind concepts like global warming.
3, Note that they all require expanding the scope of government to deal with them.
