Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

Describe the difference between incidental and intentional strategies in developing children's vocabulary.
Incidental strategies make the most of teachable moments in the course of everyday activities. They are spontaneous comments that describe events, explain terms and promote vocabulary. Because they are highly contextualized, they can help children learn new words on the spot. Intentional strategies are deliberate attempts to teach new words. One example is anchored vocabulary instruction where context cues and attention to word features are combined to teach a new word. Interruptions during shared reading is also a direct instruction technique to teach new words.
