Answer to Question 1

A
Bed rest would cause Mr. Simon to have all of the negative outcomes of immobility. The complexity and extensive nature of Mr. Simon's skin breakdown would make rehabilitation a challenge, but responses B, C, and D should be part of his rehabilitation plan of care.

Answer to Question 2

B
Simple exercises with a small can assist a older adult in strength building. Push-ups and deep knee bends may be a little aggressive for an older adult who is home alone. Response D is a poor choice because exercise, when appropriately planned, can be done with all agesregardless of circumstances.
