Answer to Question 1

C
Avoidance is exemplified by a sense of foreshortened future and estrangement. There is no evidence that this soldier is having hyperarousal or reexperiencing war-related traumas. Psychosis is not evident.

Answer to Question 2

A
Naloxone, a narcotic antagonist, permits the individual to respond and respirations to improve. However, because most opioids have a longer-lasting effect than naloxone, the effects of naloxone will wear off before the effects of the opioid. The administration of naloxone might have to be repeated. If it is not, the individual is in danger of death due to respiratory depression.

Dogs have been used in studies to detect various cancers in human subjects. They have been trained to sniff breath samples from humans that were collected by having them breathe into special tubes. These people included 55 lung cancer patients, 31 breast cancer patients, and 83 cancer-free patients. The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
