Answer to Question 1

A
Fosamax must be taken 1 hour before meals. This would probably not be the most appropriate medication for a patient on a continuous tube feeding. The other patients are appropriate candi-dates for this medication.

Answer to Question 2

B
As the disease advances, the extremity develops a cyanotic hue and becomes cool. The skin be-comes thin, shiny, and dry and has an associated loss of hair and thickened nails, all of which results from the diminished blood supply. This assessment finding indicates PVD.
