There are a number of benefits of using biographies throughout the curriculum, i.e., good biographies can serve
 
  a. as didactic devices to teach a moral or a lesson to young adults.
  b. to motivate young adults in certain areas such as social studies, but are usually not successful in math and science.
  c. as advanced organizers or as a summarizing activity for the study of a historical time period.
  d. to demonstrate stereotypes that are actually true about historical people.

  a. there needs to be a strong plot to keep the readers' interest and avoid sequencing of events.
