A fifth-grade girl disrupted the other students at her worktable and is sent to a small room by herself for 15 minutes. After her first removal, her disruptive behavior increased in frequency. Briefly state the dynamics of this situation.

The time out is functioning as a reinforcer.

Answer to Question 2

NR removes an aversive situation in an attempt to
strengthen a behavior; punishment either adds or
takes away to weaken a behavior.
