Answer to Question 1

Multicultural education exposes students to the values and norms of different cultures in an attempt to show them the diversity of the human experience. Some schools feel that all cultures should be taught equally making no judgment about good or bad cultures. Other schools feel that only the cultures that are represented in the school should be studied. Other schools approach the issue with the idea that America is a culture of its own and it is the job of the school to teach the values and customs of this dominant culture.

Answer to Question 2

The authoritarian parent tries to shape and control their children's behaviors; the permissive parent gives their children considerable freedom; and the authoritative parent sets clear standards and expects their children to meet them.
