He tapes each child's name to the back of his or her chair, and he has the children color name tags to mark the places where they sit. In doing these things, he gives each of the children a place they can call their own.

Answer to Question 2

She isn't familiar with the standard practice of raising one's hand to get a teacher's attention. She becomes overly concerned about the fact that she's broken a crayon. And she doesn't know what recess is.
