The three farming patterns are (1 ) Swidden (also called shifting cultivation or slash-and-burn) is practiced in the moister uplands regions; (2 ) Plantation agriculture (rubber, tea, pineapples, coconuts, and coffee) is practiced in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam; (3 ) Rice is grown in the lowlands.
