Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

Why are there relatively fewer large mammals in other world regions? The survival of wildlife reflects, in part, the historically low human population density and the fact that sleeping sickness and other diseases have kept people and their livestock out of many of the areas inhabited by large mammals. In addition, many African peoples have developed various means to successfully
coexist with wildlife. In other regions, human encroachment on habitat of large mammals, coupled with unsustainable hunting (e.g., the hunting of bison in North America), has resulted in a tremendous reduction of large mammals.
