Answer to Question 1

RNA is thought to have come first because, unlike DNA, RNA exhibits some catalytic activity and therefore simpler RNA molecules might have been able to self-replicate. Thus, the possibility exists that RNA could have evolved and functioned without the assistance of the enzymes it creates.
