Answer to Question 1

Europe  specifically England  was the hearth of the Industrial Revolution. Early industrial sites were located around rivers, which provided water for cleaning wool and a means for transporting the resource. Water wheels were a very important source of power. As coal took the place of water as an energy source, coal-producing areas became dominant in the location of industry. The construction of railroads increased the number of locations of industrial development, first through Great Britain and then throughout continental Europe, with France, Germany, and Italy as strong industrial areas.
